Battlefield 1942 Is (in my opinion) the best multi-player first person shooter available. Work friends and I play almost every night (with the tag of [MCP] ). Now it seems that EA has opened an "Esports Arena" in downtown San Diego and they are hosting a Battlefield tourney next week. The MCP crew have all decided to sign up! Fun! I have never competed in any sort of event before like this (at least in video games), so it should be interesting. We have been talking strategies ever since we decided to sign up. :)

And now...some strange things about my apartment complex:

1) The Parking lot: Pull into a space in out parking lot. Look to your right. Look to your left. Chances are good that one of the cars next to you will have someone in it...probably more than just one person. What are they doing in there? Oh you know...just hanging out. I swear that half the time I pull into a space, the one next to me is occupied and full of people just hangion out. It doesn't mattert what time of day or night. It's like the cool place to be.

2) The Freaks: I don't want to go into too much detail. God forbid they actually found this page and realized I was talking about them. They would probably eat me...and not in the sexual sense. *Shudder*

blogging in the news

Go here for the coolest commercial I've seen in a long time.

Go here if you have never seen the "All Your Base" Phenom.

Go here if you have.

Go here to see where I got these from.

Victory...is mine!

At my work we have been playing a double elimination Hero Clix. A bunch of people had been really into the game so they started up a lil tourney. I had never played before entering so I wasnt a really considered too much of a threat. But thanks to some good playing and mostly a lot of luck I have made it to the final round. Since it's double elimination I have to beat the bad-guy twice (where he only needs one win to take the whole thing). Still I didn't really expect to go so far so I'm pretty pumped on getting to the end. The best thing about my victory today is that I beat the same guy who knocked me outta the madden-football playoffs last year. Vengance...is mine!

Yo! Here comes the weekend run-down:

Friday night was mexican food at La Especial with Heather, my housemate Michael, Paul and Kelowna. I decided to go out on a limb and try something new...bad move :( Oh well. Then we went to my least favorite bar in town: Yogi's. We went there to meet up with Kristie (one of Heather's friends). Kristie is an interesting lass. Good company...but I don't know anyone else who so belongs at Yogis. :)

(For those not in the know) Yogi's is the local Meat Market. It's the yuppie-scenester bar where attractive people go to make asses of themselves.

Still, it was fun to talk with Kristie for a bit.

Saturday I went to Yoga (Bikram)...different from Yogis. Bikram's usually kicks my ass, but I found the cool(er) spot in the room and managed to do allright.

A bunch of my work boys went back to Camp Pendleton to play some paintball. I wish I had been able to go with them. Our last trip was tons o' fun. However I was already commited to going to a wedding with Heather for one of her friends.

The wedding was good fun. The DJ was good for a wedding DJ, so there was some fun dancing and good food and all that stuff. Weddings aren't nearly as fun when you don't know the bride and groom, but the company was good (Paul, Kelowna, Coral, and Jason were all there as well) and a party is a party so there you go. The best thing about weddings is watching white people get down to popular hip-hop and dance music. There's realy nothing more awkward than a dance floor full of people who look like "bankers gone wild" with the "Humpty Dance" bumpin.

Of course I have never been to a wedding peopled by predominantly black people...or any people other than white folks...so unfortunatly the caucasoid wedding is the only wedding I know...perhaps if I got outta the suburbs more often...

The song "Red Right Hand" Always makes me think of Randall Flagg

Sunday was mellow. I had brunch with Heather's parents (always a unique experience) and was meant to go hang out with Iwan and Sarah at the movies but something happened and they bugged out and went home. Instead Heather and I had dinner at the Fish House (big thanks to Lil Buhr for turning my on to that place.) and that was about the end of it. I spent my Sunday night finishing up a project for work.
