Even after all this time...I still find this hillarious....

The week's been pretty good so far. Tuesday night was good fun. Soccer in the early evening (we played pretty poorly and lost, but it was still a good time), followed by a rousing movie-going experience with
The Pirates of The Caribbean.
(actually...that website's good fun if you have a broadband connection...worth pokin around in for a while).
Here's the thing. I've always been fascinated by Pirates, and always loved the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland (who knows which came first...). There was nothing like wandering around Disneyland on a hot sunny day and escaping into the dark, cool, musty air of the "Pirates" ride. There's that low oboe music piping through the ambient music system, the soft chatter from people dining at "The Blue Lagoon" across the way, and the rythmic "thud" of the boat's colliding with eachother as they arrive the loading/unloading area.
So I'm really in no position to judge the quality of that film given my predisposition to the subject matter. I was very pleased to see a scene or two taken directly from the ride. I dunno...the movie was just good summer fun to me.
In other news I'm about ready to end my Planetside career and go back to Battlefield 1942. I started playing BF1942 again the last couple nights...it really is a superior game in most respects.

Surprisingly I did not go to the comic-con this year. Instead I spent saturday mountain biking and sunday surfing.
I am a bad nerd.
I also hung out with the Spraggs and Mr. Iwan Thomas...and that was a lot of fun.
I was supposed to go surfing with my pops today and then grab some sushi...but I got stood up. So I surfed by myself and had chicken salad instead.
