Don't you know that you're toxic?
Up until 10th grade, I had been listening almost exclusively to gangsta rap, with some top 40 and classic rock thrown in on the side. That year was the year of my "awakening". It started with a couple blank tapes filled with AC/DC, and eventually blossomed into a potpourri of all sorts of musical styles.
Among them was a healthy dose of the Metal. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and even some Judas Priest. That shit was awesome. Over the last few years it seems that most of the "rock bands" have been watered down by the bastard children of Pearl Jam, and snotty-nosed Limp Bizkit types.
Recently tho I have discovered a band that has all the old school flavor of early Metal acts. Shades of Iron Maiden, Judas Priests and even..dare I say...a bit of the Scorps. The band is "Dream Evil". Worthy of double devil horns, Dream Evil is not afraid to sprinkle generous helpings of the phrase "metal" or "heavy metal" into their lyrics and song titles. They're not afraid to remind you that hard rock and Dungeons and Dragons style fantasy go together like peanut butter and Jelly. I don't think think these guys are afraid of anything. I mean...LOOK AT THEM!
Anyway. I have uploaded a few brief samples of their genius:
Chasing the Dragons.
Killing in the Burning light.
The Book.
Feel free to rock out as long as you like.
You think I'm joking, but I have been listening to this band non-stop for that last week.
Anyway. In other news, a web designer guy (or something) stumbled on one of my
images at my website and bought the rights to reproduce it from me. I had never done anything like that before so it was kinda strange. I did some research and talked to a few friends who I thought might be able to help, and came up with what seemed like a pretty fair price.
So that was cool. I nice lil windfall that I wasn't expecting. Plus it felt good that some random person found value in some of the work I did. Anyway:
Here's his website.
