Man Gum
My officemate returned from Best Buy the other day with a big yellow bag of goodies and a smile on his face. Amongst those goodies was a DVD set of the first season of Magnum P.I.
I sort of missed the boat with the whole Magnum Phenomenon. I was only 5 years old in 1980 when the series first came out. Even though I was probably old enough to enjoy action TV like Knight Rider (which was first aired a couple years later). I think I was probably turned off by all that white-hot sexuality that came along with the bare chested Selleck hookin up with Hawaiian honies.
So I never got on that bus. As a result it always looked kinda cheesy and ridiculous.
Thanks to my friends recent purchase, I have now seen a couple episodes...and my initial impressions seem to be correct. Magnum flirts as much with the camera as he does with the bikini ladies. Bad performances abound, and some of the situations are downright silly.
However...I can't deny that there's some genuinely good television there. Frankly I'm pretty pumped to watch that entire series. Selleck is cheesy but charming none-the-less. The stories are a little whack but still better than most of the stuff I see on network TV these days. So color me "hooked".
Plus that
theme song kicks ass.

So as some of you know. I recently got back into Magic: The Gathering. Or as Strongbad likes to call it, "Magic: The Nerdening". While cruising the official website, I came across this excellent example of Eurotophobia:
Now to be fair...it's possible this artist has never seen a vagina...but c'mon! There's gotta be at least ONE editor in there who has. That's seriously obscene.
Not only that but it sends the viewer mixed signals. Am I supopsed to be scared? Am I supposed to be turned on? What?
